Kyoto's closed 26th Dec till 3rd Jan

Headed to Nijo Castle to see the "Nightingale" floors and the various anti-Ninja defences, but it was CLOSED! Closed till the New Year. Damn! Nevertheless, still managed to catch a sight of a pet bear! Haha...


Kinkakuji - The temple covered in gold leaves.


At Ryoanji temple, some say that this zen garden calms the heart... didn't feel anything though...

GIon district: Known for 2 things Gion Matsuri and Maikos (Apprentice Geishas) but I didn't catch any of it. I must come back to Kyoto another time.
